MiniWin95B should be able to be reduced to around 5MB (uncompressed).

But somehow, I just installed Win95B, but it doesn't seem to support my computer. When booting, there are always error messages like "Windows protection error when initializing IOS" and it can't boot to the GUI at all.

If the full version can, then the corresponding mini version can too. But the problem is that even the full version of Win95B can't boot on my this computer. However, it can boot on my other old computer. So I just ran the 5MB MiniWin95B I just made on my old computer, and there were no major problems with the usage.

Did you delete ios.vxd?

I think we should first do a good job in compatibility, and then consider the problem of simplification. Don't worry about the size.

Roy, please don't make it a GHO file. Just make it a ZIP format. It's really inconvenient to have to use GHOST to expand it to a certain partition on the hard drive.

Just compress all the files in the MiniWin95B folder with ZIP or RAR.

This GHO is of FAT16, it would be nice to make it FAT32 and be an installation program.

I tried this RAR version, but unfortunately, this Win95B still can't boot on my computer (always that "IOS initialization error". I estimate this is a compatibility issue with Win95B itself. It is suggested to make MiniWin98 instead, as the compatibility and versatility should be better.

Suggestion: Some files in the WINDOWS folder (such as EMM386.EXE, etc.) and all files in the COMMAND folder can be deleted. Because these are already commands provided by DOS, and there is no need for WIN to provide them. This can continue to effectively reduce the size of MiniWin9x.
