Thanks! So that really is the case. Also, although I knew CALL DIR and the like could be used, I hadn't thought it could be used inside FOR to create this kind of effect. Otherwise, whether echo or del, that %systemroot% simply wouldn't turn into the real path, and then it wouldn't be able to achieve the effect of deleting that file.
