Really got to the bottom of it Some support the %* syntax and some don't, and the registry also needs corresponding associations assoc .abc=abcfile ftype abcfile=winrar.exe a "%1.rar" "%1" -p%2 Then you double-click *.abc and try it (prompt to enter password) Try running *.abc 12345 again (directly treat 12345 as the password)
