That's one way too~~
But if they don't even think about the reason and just say our forum simply doesn't solve other people's problems, then what should we say??

I think there probably wouldn't be someone that boring, right? Even if there is, so what? At worst he just won't come again in the future. After all, people like that are still few~!

XIXI, this kind of thing really gives me a headache...
What I want to say is, if you want others to respect you, first behave in a way that deserves respect...
Respect is mutual...
But sometimes I think, is it even necessary to get respect from people who don't know how to respect others???
Actually, I'm not that concerned about whether people respect me or not.
If you say you respect me, then of course I'm happy. If you don't respect me, there's no way for me to force you, right?

Sometimes I really don't know whether doing this sort of thing (replying to posts, writing tutorials, managing the forum, and so on) means anything...
Just like "The Wisdom of Asking Questions" says, is it just murdering your own life...
Sometimes I just feel lazy and can't get motivated...

Doing it is good for the forum as a whole, (but for me personally? I can't think of anything)
but it may offend some people... (though I'm not afraid of offending people)
If I don't do it, it doesn't hurt me personally either. And I don't offend anyone...

I admire big sis wengier too. Not just you—I think everyone admires wengier, right?
Everyone knows she understands a lot of DOS.
But what really makes everyone sincerely convinced is probably her gentle temperament and her never-getting-annoyed attitude.

Most moderators are probably working here with the attitude of trying hard to make the forum better... otherwise nobody would be willing to take on this thankless job, right?

ko, you're right~
Moderator Wengier really is a very good moderator. It's also because of her attitude that I can feel this forum's vitality, and why I want to be a moderator on this forum~
Being a moderator was a tough job to begin with, it's work done in service of others~ That's also what Teacher Mo told me~~

First: respect is not mutual. We may respect someone very much, but that person may not respect you at all. It's not that they don't understand—it may be that they just don't want to.
In that case, do you still need to respect them? No! Definitely not!!!
Second, as for the meaning of the things you do, like replying to posts and so on—on the Internet, we can learn a lot of things. There are always people better than us, and everyone's level is different. Maybe what you know, I don't; maybe what I know, you don't. But no one knows exactly how much you understand. As a moderator, you have a bit more authority than ordinary members. In other words, don't you also have to pay some price for that authority? But there's no clear boundary to that price, so it doesn't really matter. If you want to reply, then reply; if you don't, then don't. With your temperament, you can reply to posters who show respect, and just ignore boring threads. I support you~! Hehe.

I think after a few times like that, people who post threads with boring titles won't think you're ignoring them. Instead, they may reflect on whether the problem is with themselves.

The things that give all forum moderators headaches didn't start just yesterday—just make do with it, hehe...

For people who are just getting started, they may not really understand how to make use of online resources, how to use the search function to find answers, how to ask questions, or how to describe a problem...
But you still have to keep learning, right? You can't go on forever saying you "don't really understand," right?
The problem now is that many people are unwilling to learn, and forever use "don't really understand" as an excuse...
For people who are just getting started, not understanding is forgivable... but if there are posts here that could help you understand and you won't go read them or learn from them, then that is unforgivable (to me).

I've been to quite a few forums. If it's a technical forum, then generally it has these three threads: "The Wisdom of Asking Questions," "google Search Tutorial," and "Posting (Notice) Rules"...
This isn't something unique to our forum...

When I see threads like these, I collect them and read them carefully again and again. They've helped me a lot...
Too bad some people just won't spend a little time reading them!!!
Actually, after reading them, you can save yourself a lot of time (and also save other people a lot of time, because then they won't have to look at all those baffling threads...)

Seeing so many threads on the forum with weird titles really gives me a headache!!!

Hehe. Xixi, your suggestion is very good...
And besides, chatter is chatter—you can't stop. How can you keep your mouth shut? Wouldn't that be refusing to give face to me, the moderator of this chatter board? Hehe...

Thanks, everyone! I think Xixi's suggestion is very good. This problem really does put people in a difficult position... But simply deleting posts really isn't very useful. We could instead reply afterward in a persuasive tone and educate the person who made the irregular post a bit. What do you think?

Then what if persuasion doesn't work??

If persuasion doesn't work, then like Xixi said, just stop paying attention to it... that way the person will understand even better what's going on (that is: the problem is that their own post is irregular, not that nobody replies).

What makes moderators suffer is themselves; what benefits is everyone. The ones who get scolded are also themselves. I believe friends who visit our forum often will certainly benefit a great deal from here, while the moderators have never asked for anything in return. Everything here is shared and free. What they rely on is enthusiasm and a selfless spirit. They contribute everything they know and all the work they have carefully developed to everyone without holding anything back. What they put in is energy and sweat, and that also includes money. If it weren't for an endless passion for technology, nobody would be this kind of "fool" and become a moderator.
Friends, please try to understand the moderators. They all manage and maintain the forum in their spare time outside work and study, solve everyone's difficult problems, and make boot disks according to people's needs. It's basically like doing two jobs. I believe the time they get to rest is very little.
At the same time, I also hope everyone can comply with moderator management and not post non-technical threads in the technical sections and add to our trouble. Can we put more of our energy into raising the level of China DOS and solving everyone's technical problems? I believe that if the technical sections become chaotic, friends will complain too.
I support KO. You can't just keep trying to be the nice guy all the time. Without rules, nothing can be accomplished. As for this business about power—what benefit does that power have? Can it be used to seek profit or make money? If someone really becomes well-known, that's because of their technical level, not because they deleted a few posts. Moderators carrying out their duties is also for the sake of serving everyone better. There is no personal prejudice in it.
