When I first came out of the school gate, I mainly made a living by "Windows + Virsual C++ 6.0". Now I make a living by "DOS + Windows-like GUI + Bc31".

I used to think DOS was completely eliminated, but unexpectedly today, DOS has regained its youth. I don't know why, but now I like DOS more and more!

Doing low-level things, of course, can't do without DOS.
But what we do is a product that combines things under DOS and things under Windows.
Pure things under Windows don't sell well.

Brother on floor 12, uncle I'm getting old, I don't play those kids' things like QQ, and QQ doesn't seem to have a DOS version, haha. There's an EMAIL, you can contact me if there's something: hengch@263.net.

Brother on floor 15, soulmate! I also played APPLE II, and there was a Chinese Learning Machine before, which used 6502, and I also played with it. Not long ago, I made a temperature-controlled electric fryer for foreign countries, and chose a "Sunplus" microcontroller. Unexpectedly, the instruction set is 6502, and something used years ago is put to use.

Friend on floor 17, you mentioned the combination of Windows and DOS, then what kind of product would that be? Give an example. I'm working on a single-chip microcomputer and hope to also make products under DOS.

It's a pity: AMD has discontinued GX1 and GX2. Also, considering the lead-free requirements in Europe, I had no choice but to open this GX3 board, because the original system with the same function has been running on a GX1 board all the time...

AMD is very generous with development boards. (http://www.amd.com.cn/CHCN/ConnectivitySolutions/ProductInformation/0,,50_2330_9863_9864^10846,00.html)

They gave 5 pieces at a time, 3 are VGA ones, and 2 are LCD ones...

But I'm not someone who came from the DOS era. The first system I got in touch with was Windows 98.
I really want to learn DOS well, but there are no books related to DOS sold in bookstores at all.
Those who do not study the past are condemned to repeat it

I'm also someone who came from DOS, from playing TC 2.0 to now VS 2005! After working in Windows for a few years, today I've returned to DOS! Because of project needs, I found here because of DOS.... It turns out our dear DOS still has so many people using it! It has restored my confidence!

Actually, DOS and WIN are basically similar in terms of the SYS program. Controlling hardware can be done by SYS, and other user interfaces can be completed by sending command blocks to the handles allocated by SYS. If you previously implemented it through this method, then there will be no big problem when switching to WIN. In addition, reentrancy problems can also be better solved through SYS.

I also got to know computers from Apple II. I really made a living with computers and caught the tail of DOS, which was the Windows 3.11 era. Then I went to work on Macintosh for two years, and now I make a living with Java EE.

The characteristic of WINDOWS is that you must always have someone watching it, otherwise the consequences are unpredictable.

Haha! This is classic!

Hope whowin will come to give more lessons and share more experiences when free.

I also like DOS very much, but I started late. I first saw a computer in 1998, and it seemed like DOS at that time. After about a month, it became 98 or maybe 95. I can't remember clearly. I really like assembly language for DOS, and I also liked single-chip microcomputers for a while. Now I don't like them so much. Mainly, I still like assembly language. But can I find a job using assembly language in this society now? High-level languages can be used to find jobs even if I don't know them deeply, but assembly language and C language can't. I'm going to look for a job now.
