The hidden folder built by Ge Mingyang (gmy) is built using the modified version of DOSLFN I made last year. For more detailed information, please refer to the following post:

I have also encountered this problem. There is this in F:\~1, and it is a system file. As long as you unhide the attribute of the system file, you can see the ~1 folder.

Question: What is DOSLFN? What does it do.

Thanks to GOTOmsdos for the help. Your simple sentence

  "Maybe DOSLFN is also needed"

suddenly enlightened me.

Run under DOS

DOSLFN
md F:\..
md F:\~1

Friends who are interested might as well give it a try.

Learned, it turns out to be loading long filenames~

The landlord is really nice! This is a problem I've been paying attention to all the time! Unfortunately, I didn't understand it. I tried to install DOS today, but the virtual CD-ROM I downloaded always had problems. I'll try again tomorrow!

Hehe, it's established using a special doslfn. I just found this "loophole" the other day.

Why can I still see the ~1 directory I created under XP?

Using attrib can't achieve the same kind of hiding as system files, and they are still visible in the system.

I took a look. I wonder how to create...\ this directory if all my partitions are in NTFS format. I also installed the 070707 version of one - key GHOST. My last partition is the G drive, which is an NTFS partition, and the F drive is a FAT32 partition. It is automatically created on the last FAT32 partition. This kind of directory is not supported by NTFS partitions.

Creating a directory like...\ should have a short filename like E2E2~1 under XP. Now why has it become ~1?
