To be honest, when I was doing the test, the bootable USB flash drive made with MS_DOS couldn't boot my computer,
but the bootable USB flash drive made with FREEDOS could boot my computer. I wonder if you guys have encountered this situation...

Normal phenomenon. USB flash drive booting is related to four factors:
1/ Compatibility of the motherboard (including BIOS and CHIP)
2/ Compatibility of the USB flash drive
3/ Making software
4/ Boot files

Among them, the most core are the third and fourth. A good making software can use one kind of boot file to be compatible with almost all USB flash drives, while the bad ones...

My evaluations:
1/ FLASHBOOT 85 (SD cards and digital cameras made with USB-ZIP format are incompatible, major bug)
2/ HPUSBFW 80 (None of the test machines can boot with USB-ZIP method, but most can boot with USB-HDD format)
3/ USBOOT 70 (Compatibility is quite problematic, give a bit higher score for domestic software)
4/ UFORMAT 60 (Still need to work hard)

The friend upstairs seems quite professional. I need to study hard. I've only used USBOOT.

My external hard drive was failed to be made.
Information as follows:
Loading boot sector...
Initializing destination media...
*** Error: Reformatting of target disk required, because it's impossible to match boot sector to filesystem: boot sector load code starts at 0x3e, but filesystem parameters forced the program to generate bootsector that expects load code start at 0x5a.
What is the reason?

19.20 floors are all using FLASHBOOT. If it doesn't work, then change to HPUSBFW (which is specifically for USB-HDD) or USBOOT. Also, when making a bootable disk with FLASHBOOT, in addition to those three boot files, a SYS file is also needed; otherwise, the production cannot be completed... (If you don't believe it, you can prepare a directory containing only three boot files and then try it)

FLASHBOOT I haven't used it yet, and I'm just about to try it out.
I've used the other several ones. I've been using USBOOT all the time before, but the success rate of making the USB drive bootable is not high. Recently, I bought a new 1G USB drive, Sandisk U3, and USBOOT couldn't make it work at all. Then I switched to HPUSBFW2.06 and it succeeded at once. Now I've installed GRUB, XPE, mini98 on the USB drive.

I am the same way, but I succeeded with the USB-HDD mode. The BIOS was set to USB-ZIP boot successfully. On another machine, if there is USB-HDD in the BIOS, it must be set to USB-HDD, and it won't boot if set to USB-ZIP. Thanks to the landlord~!

The 1G USB flash drive is broken and is still in the repair process. Wait until it comes back and try it.

My USB flash drive is a SanDisk 512M. I couldn't make it into a bootable drive in the three modes of usbboot. I also spent a lot of time and finally didn't find a way (software) to make it. Although it's lost now, I still want to know if my USB flash drive simply doesn't support making a bootable drive?
