DOSLFN already has version 0.40c (for example, it is included in MS-DOS 7.10 Standard Boot Disk), and even the 0.40d test version is not publicly released. So if you just want to update to the previous version 0.40b, it may not be appropriate and is not necessary; and QHIMEM is still being continuously modified and updated, so it is best to wait until it is more stable before formally adopting it. Also, note that the full version of DOS is different from the boot disk. The former should be more formal, and original software should be used as much as possible. Unless there is a real need, other external software should not be included. Therefore, it cannot be directly compared with the DOS boot disk, unless it is the specially installed version as mentioned above.

I personally think using CAB is good because the Expand command can be directly used to extract in 2K/XP. It's more convenient to run DOS in a virtual machine. Then you can query when you have unclear places in the main system.
