Now I have found a problem: when duse.exe checks the usb hard disk, the time is too short, and it stops before it has waited for the parameters to be read out. So the prompt that appears is: but when load device runs, it produces an error.

If duse.exe could query for a little longer, the problem should be easy to solve.

Then you can modify DUSE's wait time. Adding a parameter (WAIT=xx) should do it. Today, a user on a foreign DOS forum was asking the same question too!

No, not the (WAIT=xx) parameter. That is the wait time for a keypress after load device fails.
What I mean is that duse.exe spends too little time querying the deivce; it should query a few more times or increase the delay. Because I found that just as the usb hard disk starts spinning up, duse has already prompted that it cannot load the device.

Sigh, still no good. I changed the sizes of the wait, CDW, and DDW parameters, but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know what method duse。exe uses to read the hard disk parameters, or is it still INT 13H?

If you add the INT parameter, it will provide INT 13H compatibility mode.

wait,int 13,cdw,ddw are all compatibility parameters after “starting the device”. The current difficulty is that duse.exe cannot find the device; in other words, the parameters for checking the device need to be modified. Could someone trace its query code? I don't have the right tools on hand.

That makes sense. Right now when I drive my own U disk, I also want to modify DUSE's parameters, but unfortunately I can't do it either.

You might as well try s－ice first; it can be loaded in the config.sys file.

My USB hard disk is also installed successfully, but it cannot assign a drive letter. Why? How can I make the computer assign a drive letter?

Many thanks to the moderator for providing the USB driver. I often use USB to back up data, but I have to keep changing CONFIG。SYS so it can find the USB hard disk. If I load them all into CONFIG at the same time they conflict. Is there any way to make CONFIG or DOS recognize it automatically at startup???
