Repeated experiments with DiskGen show that once the MBR is rewritten, after rebooting the system it will definitely detect new hardware!

Rewriting the MBR just means writing the system boot sector, and it really won't report new hardware found, just like the command: format /mbr. Unless it's rewriting the partition table. Anyone who has used the Debug command knows these two are completely different concepts, and beginners often confuse them.
New hardware found actually just means a new disk was found. If you use the DOS version of PQ to adjust the size of a partition, after rebooting it will also report new hardware found. The Windows version of PQ won't report it, because the Windows system has already detected the disk change in the background.

Mm! Yes, this is exactly the situation I meant! If you use MSdos7.10 and just keep confirming all the way during installation, it will write the MBR, and then when entering the system it will report new hardware found! I'm not saying it has a virus!

The OP is mistaken. During the MS-DOS 7.1 installation process, the default choice is not to write the MBR, unless you yourself changed the default setting and chose Yes. If yours was different, that can only mean what you downloaded was not the correct version. Please download from this forum or this website, not from elsewhere (this is exactly what I found strange; if you downloaded some other version from some other place, then asking me is useless. Hehe, brother, after reading your post, I tried it again with diskgen (even though I've already tested it N times, I still patiently tested it once more. That is, I used the program menu bar item: Tools\Rewrite Master Boot Record, saved, and exited). After rebooting the computer, the familiar prompt came out again: new hardware found. Then a window popped up asking me to restart the computer.

I tried it once too and it also reported new hardware found. diskgen is indeed a bit strange, just like the way it restarts (instantly returning to the NTLDR boot) without even going through the BIOS self-test at all.
When I repeatedly read and wrote the mbr with Debug, this situation never appeared. Administrator Wengier didn't use diskgen to write it.

diskgen itself has bugs. I adjusted a partition with it once, and after that it would never boot again, so I don't like using it at all!
