Yes, usually the common MS-DOS boot disks can't boot. And it can only be repaired under DOS (except Linux). Of course, the hard drive can't be used before it's repaired.

Try running the IVHELP.EXE program among them. There are very detailed instructions in it. But I haven't specifically used NetResq either.
