Yes, LL5 cannot run under XP. The only feasible method now is the DOS client SL of FastLynx mentioned by the person above.

The moderator said that this can be transmitted with FastLynx. The parallel port protection mechanism of Windows restricts the transmission of software like ll5. Software like ll5 can only be used in pure DOS or in Win98. Under XP, only FastLynx can be used. It is a Windows program, with a built-in DOS client and a Linux client.

Of course, the data transfer speed via the parallel port under DOS is slow, but it is also acceptable. The author has tried to transfer 100M of data, which only takes twenty minutes. Some old instruments and equipment can only do this.
