Are you visiting the forum for the first time?

As for uploading attachments, this forum is in Disguz! style, which is the same as uploading in a DVBBS (Dynamic Web Board) style forum. Click "Post Reply", and then you will find the upload...

You made me aware that there is such an "old hand" in this forum.
"I know nothing about everything"
After your little hint, I just realized that I am also on the forum, and I am very happy.
"I know nothing about everything"
To be honest with you, I don't understand English, and I can't type in Pinyin, but I really want to learn.
The thing is, you told me about it, and still remember to pull me along.
Regarding the understanding of sentences, everyone has different perspectives, and understanding a little from different aspects is only beneficial to oneself.

Re is the abbreviation of Reply, which means reply, right? I often encounter it when replying to emails.

Thanks to the friend on floor 17 for helping to answer.
It seems that I still use "TO the thread starter:", which is better.
Do you think so?

Please ask Brother Ben Shi to look at the following font issue of BCDW!

BCDW is a very powerful multi-disc boot tool, but it has never had a suitable and usable Chinese font. Can Brother Ben Shi make a corresponding font?

The following are some relevant materials obtained by reference:

When the computer starts, a standard 8 * 16 English font (cp437) is loaded in the video card memory. BCDW allows other fonts (such as Russian fonts) to be loaded into the video card at startup, and the loaded fonts can have different sizes (the size of the font determines the number of lines that can be displayed on the screen).
The key name "Font" tells BCDW the name and location of the font file loaded at startup.
The size of the font file can be any value from 1024 bytes (8x4 - can display 100 lines on the screen) to 8192 bytes (8x32 - can display 12 lines on the screen).
If the key name "Logo" is ignored, BCDW will use the default font of the video card.
BCDW contains the following font files:

\BCDW\FONTS\russian.fnt Russian font 8x16, can display 25 lines on the screen
\BCDW\FONTS\russian.f32 Russian font 8x32, can display 12 lines on the screen
\BCDW\FONTS\russian.f19 Russian font 8x19, can display 21 lines on the screen
\BCDW\FONTS\russian.f14 Russian font 8x14, can display 28 lines on the screen
\BCDW\FONTS\russian.f12 Russian font 8x12, can display 33 lines on the screen
\BCDW\FONTS\russian.f11 Russian font 8x11, can display 36 lines on the screen
\BCDW\FONTS\russian.f08 Russian font 8x8, can display 50 lines on the screen
\BCDW\FONTS\russian.f06 Russian font 8x6, can display 66 lines on the screen
\BCDW\FONTS\russian.f04 Russian font 8x4, can display 100 lines on the screen
\BCDW\FONTS\cyrillic.fnt Cyrillic font 8x16
\BCDW\FONTS\cyrillic.f14 Cyrillic font 8x14
\BCDW\FONTS\cyrillic.f08 Cyrillic font 8x8
\BCDW\FONTS\utf8mb4.fnt Latin 1 font 8x16
\BCDW\FONTS\utf8mb4.f14 Latin 1 font 8x14
\BCDW\FONTS\utf8mb4.f08 Latin 1 font 8x8
\BCDW\FONTS\latin2.fnt Latin 2 font 8x16

If Brother Ben Shi has time, can he develop a usable Chinese font for BCDW to use?

First of all, here it is necessary to distinguish a pair of concepts: DBCS (Double-Byte Character System) and SBCS (Single-Byte Character System). For the currently common display cards, SBCS includes 256 different characters with values from 0 to 255, such as the ASCII character set. DBCS includes more characters, and the quantity also varies greatly. The number of characters in the Chinese character encoding system ranges from 6,763 to more than 20,000. That is to say, a single byte can only express very simple Chinese characters with few strokes; the glyph information of a Chinese character is insufficient to be expressed with one byte for Chinese characters with more strokes, and usually two Western character positions are needed to represent it.

Secondly, Western single-byte fonts of various specifications are defaultly loaded on E/VGA and above display cards, and can also be replaced in real time. But the number of Chinese characters that can be displayed by this technology is very limited. The maximum number of Chinese characters displayed on the same screen with double character sets is at most 256. Moreover, it is necessary to consider excluding normal Western display, and the control code positions also need to be vacated, etc. Also, the display of the second character set also needs to set special character attributes, etc. The actual number of displayed characters depends on the implemented software.

These two points are the basis of software such as VTmagic.com (BCDW should be of the same category). So now it is not a problem of needing a new font, but a problem of what implementation plan to adopt (I don't know the specific plan data of BCDW).

Indeed, as the original poster said, someone has done labor in this regard, which is to piece together one Chinese character with two Western characters, but it didn't succeed!

If the poster needs the BCDW demo ISO and the BCDW compressed package, please leave a message!
