For many people, floppy disks, which seem to have become outdated, still have some uses for some individuals. Now there are relatively many mobile storage devices, but their universality doesn't seem to reach the level of floppy disk drives. Especially in terms of booting, flash drives or mobile hard drives often have inexplicable problems.
Floppy disks are often criticized for their quality. Indeed, the quality of current disks is hard to say, but proper maintenance by oneself is also very important. If it's not a physical damage, many problems can be fixed by oneself. I used to have several disks that were almost thrown away because they couldn't be read. Once by chance, I found that formatting twice with hd-copy could solve the problem (it doesn't matter much what the capacity is after formatting). After completion, if it can pass the ndd test, there is generally no problem (the floppy disk seems to work better than before after two formattings). But if it's a physical damage, this method can't help (floppy disks should not be placed in a dusty environment or around strong magnetic fields at ordinary times).
