But this file is only 250K, while the ARJ285 downloaded from the official website is 472K, so I suspect the authenticity of this one!

Hehe, that officially downloaded ARJ285.EXE is a complete self-extracting installation file, which also includes other executable files and instruction documents, while yours is just the main file ARJ.EXE. If you extract ARJ285.EXE, the ARJ.EXE inside is only 250K. Judging from your self-check passing, it should be the real 2.85 registered version.
