The bootable disk doesn't need to be too complicated... as long as it works...

There is still a gap between being functional and being user-friendly!

Make several DOS img files, then make adjustments in the autoexec.bat in each img. For CDs, floppy disk images shouldn't be too large, right?

How should this be done?

I have made an ISO using EasyBoot. There are 4 functions in the main menu: boot to DOS, enter submenu (including functions like Ghost, hard disk repair, KV2005 FOR DOS, PARTITIONMAGIC FOR DOS and other DOS *.exe programs), boot from hard disk, and restart. These functions all work normally. But when I use the "enter submenu" function, using functions like Ghost, hard disk repair, KV2005 FOR DOS, PARTITIONMAGIC FOR DOS and other DOS *.exe programs is very slow to respond, and these *.exe programs can't be started. What's the reason?

That's because the functions of using Ghost, hard disk repair, KV2005 FOR DOS, PARTITIONMAGIC FOR DOS and other DOS*.exe programs require more startup files and larger files. If the memory is not configured, it's not an issue with EasyBoot!

The original Chinese text in the quote part is: "那是因为使用Ghost、硬盘修复、KV2005 FOR DOS、PARTITIONMAGIC FOR DOS等DOS*.exe程序功能所需启动的文件较多、文件大,如果没有配置内存等,不是EasyBoot的问..."

Then the following text is: "平时在DOS中使用*.exe这些程序是挺快的,为何从启动光盘中调用又会这么慢呢?是不是跟它们的镜像有关?"

So the translated text for the whole content is:

Why is it that when using these *.exe programs in DOS normally they are quite fast, but when called from a bootable CD, they are so slow? Is it related to their images?

It must have something to do with their images!

Maybe there was a misunderstanding?
The menu command in EASYBOOT cannot run.EXE, only run *.IMG, BIN and other image files. So what you need to do is make the EXE program into an IMG file (use WINIMAGE to do it, it's very simple, just modify AUTOEXEC.BAT).
PS: EASYBOOT is really powerful, it can make very beautiful interfaces, but it's a bit inconvenient that its driver does not support direct running of EXE.

I made these *.EXE programs into *.BIN images and then called them via EasyBoot. But the problem I had before still occurred.

Now I made them into *.IM* - type images, but still couldn't call them.

Then I entered DOS from the startup CD, directly opened Ghost8.0, and then the following error appeared:

Output error file following location:
A:\GHOSTERR.TXT
OK Cancel

If I can't confirm, exiting the program will be canceled.

I opened the GHOSTERR.TXT file under Windows, and the content is:

Date : Thu Oct 20 20:56:00 2005
Error Number: (440)
Message: Ghost cannot run on Windows based systems.
Please boot your system into Dos and then run Ghost or
alternatively, run Ghost32 (Ghost for Windows).
Version: 8.0.0.984 (Oct 3 2003, Build=984)
OS Version: DOS v5.50
Command line arguments:
Active Switches :
AutoName

How to solve this problem?
