I have been using Wubi (a Chinese input method) for 6 years. I only spent one week learning Wubi back then. My Mandarin is not standard, so I can't do without Wubi.

People who work a bit harder can basically be very proficient in typing with the Wubi input method within a month. After being proficient in Wubi, the speed is much faster than that of Pinyin.

It can be affirmed that the author did not seriously spend time practicing Wubi.

The reason why Wubi dominated the world back then was that no other input method had a higher efficiency than Wubi at that time. The kinds of Purple Light, Smart Qiangpin mentioned by the author didn't even know where they were back then.

Secondly, apart from having a low single-character repetition rate, Wubi is also no inferior in inputting word groups. The number of word groups in Wangma Wubi back then was indeed not large, and I also abandoned it for many years. But now there are many excellent Wubi input methods. For example, Jidian Wubi. It can be definitely said that the author must have never used or heard of new Wubi input methods.

Thirdly, if it is daily conversation and chatting, any input method is okay. But if it is typing different official documents, papers or other business letters, the efficiency of Pinyin is still inferior to that of Wubi.

For individuals, as long as the input method is applicable, it is a good input method. Whether it is Wubi or Pinyin, it is just a means. If you like to use Wubi, use Wubi; if you want to use Pinyin, use Pinyin. It is a personal freedom. But there is no need to advocate Pinyin and denigrate Wubi. Why bother?

I only use Wubi input method. If there were no Wubi, I wouldn't be able to type because my pinyin is really not good.
