Actually, after analyzing it and coming up with the theory, I just passed the test in one try (that is, I used a one-time experiment to prove my idea was correct), so it doesn't really count as “testing it on myself.”

Wengier is impressive!
Experiments are used to prove conclusions, not to arrive at conclusions. |

What if I do it like this:
c:\>type autoexec.bat call c:\auto.bat Then put the real contents of autoexec.bat into auto.bat. I wonder whether win2000 will automatically skip it??? |

Theoretically, it definitely will.

Run regedit to open the Registry Editor, find HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon, and check whether there is a DWORD value on the right called "ParseAutoexec". If not, create one, then change this value to “0” to block WinXP from processing the Autoexec.bat file at startup.
Everyone try whether this also works for WIN2000. I just happen not to have 2000 on hand right now :( |

My Win2K has this DWORD value.
Looks to me like quite a few people in the world can solve this problem, so it's not really something nobody can solve. |

Wengier, try changing this value and see whether it works. It does work on my WINXP :)

Then it seems this method works in both XP and 2000 :)

First learn how to ask a question.
Then change your post title to something better. In the future, posts with this kind of title may end up with only these three outcomes: 1。Nobody responds. (This is the best case.) 2。They get moved to the chatter section. 3。They get deleted. ======== Another one of those problems the whole world can't solve? Next time I run into a post title like this, it'll be deleted on sight! |
