Excuse me, webmaster, how to make a USB flash drive bootable? Just copying and booting is incorrect. Also, when using m3 and m4 to boot, my computer can't start and finally freezes. My computer is a Lenovo P4.

I have some suggestions for the MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk:

Actually, you can use "device?" in the form like this in config.sys:
DEVICE?=EMM386.EXE
This way, every time you boot, it will prompt the user whether to load emm386.exe

The MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk you made can boot Windows 98 on drive E, which is not easy!
My C drive has Windows Me, which is incompatible with Windows 98, and the boot program of 98 can't be on the C drive. This advantage is very good!
But there are also many drawbacks. I installed MS-DOS 7.10 on the USB flash drive. When booting, only the first item can be started, and items 2, 3, 4 don't work. DiskGen is a good tool for maintaining the hard drive. Running diskgen.exe can easily cause a system crash. Also, can it boot to install Windows?

The following is a quote from Eden on 2003-10-8 11:42:25:

I thought about this before, but then I gave it up because it's not very intuitive. But I'll think of some better ways.

Hello, I downloaded your DOS 7.10 bootable disk. How exactly do I use it? Is it just directly copied to a floppy disk, then inserted into the floppy drive and restarted? I'm a newbie, please excuse me.

Nowadays, the Windows system often has problems, and the opportunity to use DOS is greatly increased.

Let's talk about an off-topic - it's hard to say which antivirus software is better or worse.

I have a personal experience: There is one Trojan horse that NAV (Enterprise 8.1 Gold Edition, the latest update) simply can't detect, and there are two that it can detect but can't kill when they are in compressed files; while Panda Antivirus Platinum Edition (the latest 7.05.03) can detect and can directly kill within the compressed package; Sophors 3.73 and AVP 3.5 Swiss Edition can detect but can't kill within the package. I usually use AVP 3.5 now (it's extremely compact, taking up only more than 3MB of memory), and Sophors is more compact but unfortunately can't be updated online. I used to use PC - Cillin all the time, and the updates were really timely, almost updated every two days, but unfortunately it's not easy to update now : (

The notebook I'm using is fully externally powered via USB. Since the 2000 kernel is broken, I need to boot with DOS and want to reinstall 2000 using a USB CD-ROM under DOS. But after selecting the third option, it finds the LG CD-ROM, but then it's:

THE following file is missing or corrupted:ASPIUHCI.SYS
There is an error in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 50
THE following file is missing or corruptedi1000DD.SYS
There is an error in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 51
THE following file is missing or corrupted:USBCD.SYS
There is an error in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 52
and so on

Finally, it stops at
A> here
Then entering any command doesn't work.

Excuse me, moderator, how should I handle this?

Thanks for you developing the MSDOS7.10 bootable floppy disk. There is one question to ask: After booting with the floppy disk (both menu items 3/4 have been tested), as soon as I insert a USB flash drive, a "DeteCted USB Storage Device" prompt appears and then the computer freezes (the same happens if inserted before booting). I am using a Patriot - Email - type 64M flash drive. I don't know the reason. Please give me some advice.

In addition, I agree with the opinion that . After all, the space of the floppy disk is limited. Of course, this can be done by individuals.

After multiple tests, the USB Patriot Mini King (64M Email Type) DOS driver cannot load DUSE.EXE. If loaded, it will definitely crash. So the configuration file in MSDOS7.10 needs to be changed. That is, delete or comment out DEVICE=DUSE.EXE in the configuration file (config.sys). The specific operations are as follows:
1. Open ConFig.SYS with Notepad, respectively find the and program segments, and add REM in front of the command line "DEVICE=DUSE.EXE INT EMU CDW=3 DDW=3 XFER=32 DRIVES=2 CDD=USB-CD". For example: REM DEVICE=DUSE.EXE INT EMU CDW=3 DDW=3 XFER=32 DRIVES=2 CDD=USB-CD, or simply delete this command line.
Note that both the and program segments need to be processed in this way.

2. In addition, if you choose 4.Boot with UMBPCI, NTFS and SCSI/USB drives support(if any) every time you start, you can change the last line MENUDEFAULT=M1,15 in the program segment to: MENUDEFAULT=M4,15 or MENUDEFAULT=M4,0

3. If you always boot from a floppy disk (that is, not from the hard disk or CD-ROM), you can also open the MENU.LST file in the ROOT folder of the boot disk with Notepad, and change the first line timeout 10 to timeout 0

Special thanks to Wengier for providing so many DOS drivers.

楼主, I downloaded it and after extracting it's 1.46mb. It won't fit on a single floppy disk! What should I do?!
