This is my specialty. I'll give you a very good suggestion. You must be a beginner with computers and don't understand computer hardware very well. I suggest you buy a brand-name computer~ that way there's good assurance and after-sales service too. If you really want to build a machine, you can ask a professional and have it assembled by a regular vendor. For the specs, you can refer to the posters in the shop. The specs I suggest are: CPU Celeron 2.0G, memory 256MB, motherboard just an ordinary Pentium 4 motherboard is fine, hard drive 80G 7200 rpm, video card should be GF4 64MB, for the monitor choose a BenQ 17-inch flat CRT, keyboard should be a regular one, mouse should be optical, floppy drive whatever, CD-ROM BenQ is the best, sound card is even better if it's integrated on the motherboard, and if it's not integrated, any Yamaha one will do. For the rest, just choose brands with solid reputations~ like the power supply, Great Wall power supply, etc.
