I don't really have any great work,
but lately I've been thinking about writing poetry.
Because, you know, lots of people like qin, chess, calligraphy, and painting, but poetry and verse are just too hard...
So today let's use poetry to make friends.
This poem has been read by the chief editors of all the major newspapers and magazines, and they insist on publishing it.
A good poem ought to be published.
Also, Elder Guo, Ba Jin, Mao Dun, and Lao She, those old gentlemen, all read it too.
My poem isn't well written, please don't laugh at me.
With boundless courage, none may deceive,
Zhang Fei shouted down Dangyang Bridge.
Though it wasn't exactly a good deal,
One night as husband and wife, a hundred days of grace.
One line, one twist, wonderful, isn't it?!

The OP's poem is good, it's just that the third line is awkward. “Rippling autumn waves follow the stars” is not very clear to me. If it were changed to “Autumn waves ripple, following the distant stars,” it would read more smoothly, but I don't know whether that would change the original meaning.

I think (ha, isn't that arrogant enough!....) the reason Chinese writing is so endlessly charming lies mainly in the beauty of its artistic conception, something other writing systems simply cannot compare with. Some things can be expressed in words, but their meaning cannot be forced out by effort. Moderator, please don't take offense. I don't want to change it, and besides, even if I changed it, it would be meaningless. I'm past that age already; I no longer have the heart or the strength for it.
