Today, in order to study and make MiniWin95, I installed Win95A in the C drive. By the way, I tried to see if Win95 can run under MS-DOS 7.10. Everyone knows that usually Win95 runs under MS-DOS 7.0 which doesn't support FAT32 but supports large hard disks. So this time I tried to see if it can run under MS-DOS 7.10. The result is that it really works. Under MS-DOS 7.10 (Win98SE), entering WIN of Win95 started to the Win95 desktop without any trouble! Later, when I was going to return to WinME, because the path of winbootdir in MSDOS.SYS was pointed to the path of Win95 (which was corrected later), as a result, after the WinME boot logo appeared on the screen, it directly started to the Win95 desktop! Really~~
But there is one point. Don't expect that after starting Win95 with MS-DOS 7.10, 8.0, Win95 can support FAT32 partitions. In fact, because Win95 itself doesn't support FAT32 partitions, so even if the drive letter already exists, this FAT32 partition still cannot be accessed~~
From this, it can be seen that no matter which high version of MS-DOS, including 7.0, 7.1, 8.0, can directly start the Win9x DOS program. This makes me have a deeper understanding that Win9x is a GUI program under DOS, right??
