Hello.
I recently started getting into DOS. I now have a certain amount of theoretical understanding of DOS.
But I completely don't understand the actual operation.
I'd like to ask you to help me.

It's like this, I'll first talk about the basic situation of my computer.
Computer: laptop, no floppy drive.
CPU: P2
Memory: 160 BM
System: WIN98
PC network card:
I don't know what model it is,
but in the manual under "software support" it says: Ware 3.X or 4.X , Lan manager ,LanServer , Windows for Workgroup ,Windows Nt Windows95 , OSR2 or 98 .ME , Windows2000, FTP TCP / IP , SCOUNIX. 3.2 CardBus Ethernet installation, model numbers TN390 and TN391 .

In Device Manager it says: Texax Instruments PCI-1225 CardBus Controller

It's an "SG-0120" CardBus Fast Ethernet Adapter 10 /100M fast Ethernet card from "Xige Digital".
Network connection method: I connect through my company's network (LAN).

**Please teach me how to get on the Internet in the DOS operating system environment.**
(I want to learn to use the computer in DOS, without relying on WINDOWS).

I've read your article, but I don't know the specific commands, the operating process, or the operating environment.
Please teach me in detail, step by step, exactly what software is needed, where to download it, software installation, various commands, and so on. Because I really have absolutely no concept of how to operate it.

Please teach me.
I will never forget your great kindness, expert.
Thanks, thanks.

Actually, this MSDOS710 naturally wasn't invented by me; rather, I modified + designed it myself... Installing it is also very simple.. First use SYS to transfer the system files..

As for that network card, you can first go download a corresponding Packet driver and just run it. Then, for the corresponding Internet operations, you need corresponding Internet programs. What Internet operations do you need?

Hehe~ I just don't understand the specific commands. I've already downloaded your MSDOS710, what should I do next?
Your instructions tell me to "use MAKEBOOT.BAT or HD-COPY.EXE to extract the MSDOS710.IMG file onto a floppy disk to make an MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk." Should I first enter the DOS system? Also, I don't have a floppy drive.

What is the difference between a Packet driver and the driver that comes with this card? What is a Packet driver for??
If I download it, how should I run it? Run it in 98 or in DOS? If in DOS, then what command should I use?
As for Internet programs, which one do you use?
As long as it can display Chinese, that's enough for me.

I have already downloaded the driver for PCMCIA devices:
CardWare 6.0 After running it, it put the "installation files" in c:\dos\cardware\disk1,disk2,disk3
Should it be installed under DOS?

Packet drivers and CardWare of course are both installed and run under pure DOS.

As for programs under DOS that support Chinese and can browse Internet webpages, I recommend Lynx or W3M, both are GNU software..

For drivers like cardware, is installing them once enough?

I've already downloaded Lynx.
How do I install it? Is installing it once enough too? Like in WINDOSW?

CardWare can be installed directly through its installer..

As for Lynx, you can just run it directly; there's no need to install it.

So depressing!
careware requires registration, I can't use it.
And it even made it so I couldn't get into windows.
I had to delete the careware folder in safe mode before things were okay.
And caresoft won't install either. It keeps saying files are missing.

What should I do??

As for CardWare, actually it can be used without registration. There's a clever way: if you put it in the root folder, then you don't need to enter a registration number. I discovered that by accident~~

It was originally placed under c:\cardware\.
Where should I put it?
Should I put it there during installation or after installation?

For example, try putting it on C:\ or D:\.. Put it there when running it, not during installation.

About cardware, I changed the directory to card (it was originally cardware).
When booting and choosing DOS, it says it can't find the cardware files while entering DOS.
Then I entered card and ran the .exe files. I found that I have to run that registration file before I can run the other files.
After running it, I found that the network card's connection indicator light came on.
Then I ran lynx, but it seemed to say some file was missing.
What should I do?
