I thought Linux was very small, but I didn't expect it to be too big. Both Red Flag and Red Hat are quite large? When I saw several gigabytes, I was stunned and didn't dare to download it. Do you all buy CDs or download them? If you buy them, how much does it cost and how many CDs are there?

Hehe, in this day and age, CDs shouldn't be more expensive.
I bought RedHat 9 on a CD, used Turbo that came with the package, and also downloaded other UNIX from the internet.
Even downloading several GB shouldn't be a problem. Are you on dial-up?

Download Fedora Core. It feels relatively easy to use. Now it has reached FC6, and FC7 is about to be released as a formal version soon.

Bought a pirated disc a long time ago, installed and used it for a week, then deleted it

It's a bit embarrassing. I downloaded several Linux systems, but each time the installation failed. It's frustrating.

I installed it directly using the Ubuntu CD.
It's really convenient.
Ubuntu officially provides free CDs to the world. LZ just needs to go to
https://shipit.ubuntu.com/ to apply.
The CD is mailed directly from the United States, and the postage is 40 euros, which is paid by Americans, so don't worry.
When filling out the application, be sure to write the address clearly. It's okay to use English or Pinyin. As long as it's clear, you can receive it.
It basically takes more than a week to receive it in provincial capitals and other large cities. It may take a little longer in smaller places.
The official statement is that you can receive it within a maximum of one month.
PS: Finally, I would like to add that I received it in one week. I installed version 6.06, and now free CDs for version 7.04 are also provided. The update is too fast.

What the brother on the 10th floor said is very tempting. I don't know if it's really free.

I just want to tell more people the good news.
If you don't believe it, go to the Ubuntu Chinese forum to have a look
http://forum.ubuntu.org.cn/

I don't have a digital camera at hand, otherwise I would take a picture of my package and show it to you all.

I usually use Red Flag Linux and download it from its official website.

Is Ubuntu a kind of Linux, and won't it need 5 or 6 GB?
