Trying to drive the mouse with WIN1.0 installed with DOS3.3 always fails. I want to try with DOS2.0! Thanks for the help!

It has nothing to do with the DOS version. Windows 1.0x only supports serial mice.

There's no way. Windows 1.0x doesn't support PS/2 mouse interfaces at all.

Used the WIN101.DSK given by humct, can directly enter WIN1.0 with a floppy drive, and can use the mouse. May I ask how you made it? Can you share the experience? Thank you!

This is actually very simple.
If you pay attention to the mouse driver setup interface when installing WIN1X, select MICROSOFT PS/2 MOUSE.
WIN1X supports PS/2 mice

Excuse me humct, why do you have the option of MICROSOFT PS/2 MOUSE when you install it? I have installed windows 1.01 1.02 1.03 1.04, and I have never seen the option of ps/2 mouse, only the option of serial mouse.

There is no option for ps/2 mouse in the screenshot, and it cannot be paged. The mouse option does not seem to be controlled by win.ini.

I tried replacing the mouse.drv from the first installation disk of Windows 1.01 with the mouse.drv of Windows 2.03, then selected the second item (Microsoft mouse) during installation, and then I could use the ps/2 mouse in Windows 1.01.

I replaced the mouse.drv in the 1.01 installation disk with mouse.drv from Windows 2.03, and indeed the mouse was driven.

Otherwise, none of the 8 options worked.

Even Win3.2 is unstable, so the stability of this Win1 can be imagined
