Format the C drive to NTFS format first, change the BIOS to software boot, insert the boot disk to enter DOS, then enter the FAT32 formatted disk ((the operating system image package has been extracted to the root directory of this disk in advance)), then enter the i386 folder, run the WINNT.BAT or other files required in the instruction file, but when the system restarts after copying the files, it will enter DOS again, and there is no movement. I have been thinking about it for a long time and don't know how to solve it!!

Looking forward to the guidance of experts!!

Then change it to boot from the hard disk

Format the C drive to FAT32 first, and then change it back to NTFS during the system installation. Isn't that better? This is less likely to go wrong! Otherwise, the drive letter misalignment will make you regret it enough!

After executing the winnt file copy, the program tells you to take out the floppy disk and then restart, but obviously your floppy disk is still in the floppy drive.

The three people upstairs all paid attention to my question, and I would like to express my gratitude here!
But the problem still exists. I installed it several times before. Once I didn't take out the floppy disk. After copying the files, there was no prompt to take out the floppy disk. After restarting, I still entered DOS. Another time, I immediately entered the BIOS when restarting, changed the hard disk to boot, and the screen prompted that there was no operating system. The last time I took it out in advance, and then there was no response. Depressed!!!

Then boot from the floppy disk to DOS, and then run winnt installation again to see what will happen?

I tried the method of the brother on the fifth floor last time as well. When I run WINNT again, it will copy files again, and this goes on and on until you lose patience.

How many hard drives do you have? If there is more than one hard drive in the computer, you may encounter such a problem.

If it's multiple hard drives, check in the BIOS settings to see if a certain hard drive has been set to None. Or try using DiskGen to check the hard drive partition table.

The issue of multiple hard drives has nothing to do with being set to None.
If the first hard drive is entirely NTFS partitions and there is a FAT partition on the second hard drive, after entering DOS, the C: drive is on the second hard drive. After copying the winnt.exe file, it needs to modify the boot sector and MBR. It modifies the boot sector and MBR of the second hard drive. After restarting, it will not enter the next installation stage.
I once encountered this situation on my computer where the first hard drive had no FAT partitions.

Formatting drive C to NTFS format will make it impossible to install the system under DOS!

That shouldn't be said like that, because as long as there is a FAT partition on the hard disk, there will be a C: drive under DOS.

As long as the active primary partition on the hard disk is an NTFS partition, you cannot install the system under DOS!
