After booting, it should be able to automatically make the DOS system browse the Internet, including Chinese websites (such as this forum). I have studied and to achieve this step (mainly the problem of universality, so that it can be directly used on various computers), this Internet bootable disk should have at least the following functions:
1: Support local web pages and files, and support long filename function;
2: Automatically load the Chinese character system, and I find that UCDOS 7.0 has the best compatibility;
3: After booting, let the user choose whether to dial up or broadband;
4: If the user chooses dial-up, then let the user choose whether to automatically detect the modem or manually select the COM port number where the modem is located; then use the WBAT dialog box to let the user enter the phone number, username, password, etc.; then use these information to dial with LSPPP;
5: If the user chooses to use the network card to access the Internet, also let the user choose to manually select the network card or automatically detect the network card; then load the corresponding network card driver;
6: Once the Packet driver is successfully loaded, let the netizens choose operations, such as entering the Internet browser for web browsing or entering FTP, Telnet, etc.;
7: There should be help information before running the corresponding program to tell the user how to operate the browser, etc.;
8: It can also support more Internet access methods, such as ISDN access or user-defined network driver access, etc.
