In a friend's computer, because some bad sectors were found in the front of drive D, I used PQ to separate them out and set them as hidden partitions. However, after booting with Wengier's boot files, I can't see all the partitions after the hidden partition, but there is no such phenomenon when booting with the WIN98 on drive C (or the original WIN98 boot disk).

The moderator is not afraid of the IO.SYS with logic lock. It can't boot on my hard disk. Also, the IO.SYS file for slimming down is the same. I have a dual boot , and IO.SYS is placed in the root directory of drive C. The original IO.SYS of 98 can boot the hard disk. When I press F8 to select to enter DOS, I just see the cursor flashing, and I can't enter pure DOS. If that's the case, just add a line SystemReg=0 in MSDOS.SYS as mentioned above.

In fact, I initially used this weight-reduced IO.SYS on the hard disk, and then transferred it to the boot floppy to make it usable. I have tried many computers, and none have failed (whether there is the line SystemReg=0 in MSDOS.SYS or not, I have never failed. If I add SystemReg=0 again, then it is basically certain that there will be no problems at all).

Is it just writing SystemReg=0 in MSDOS.SYS? There are no format requirements, right? I originally didn't write anything in it.

May I ask, what is the total size of this hard disk? How large is the C drive? What is the model? I have tried many different types of hard disks, but I have never had this kind of problem (actually, my C:\IO.SYS is this file now).

I am ST34312A 4.3G hard disk, C drive is divided into 1.61G, now available space is 591MB
