I feel a bit guilty that many things haven't been realized. I always wanted to have some achievements, but unfortunately, I've been too lazy recently. Only after the passion fades do I realize how difficult it is to manage a forum. Now I'm starting to learn hardware repair and also having my first attempt in business. Every day, I think most about how to increase sales and find market gaps. When I get home, I also make up for hardware repair knowledge and look for textbooks online. Naturally, I haven't paid much attention to this section.

Today when I came back to take a look, the forum didn't have chaos. There were enthusiastic people who deducted points for advertisement posts in the first time, which makes me very relieved. The basic situation of the forum now is that most people don't understand GRUB4DOS very well. The typical situation is not having seen through the top-sticked tutorial. The questions asked are also too simple, and they don't know anything about its application aspects. It also shows that there isn't a relatively clear and simple guide about application aspects in our forum.

For example: GRUB applications can be divided into personal, enterprise, and maintenance.

Personal: mainly understand how to use GRUB4DOS, and it's enough to do multi-system booting.

Enterprise: mainly understand PXE application, diskless booting, and computer repair.

Maintenance: the more popular one is to have a USB flash drive for everything.

For the personal aspect, read the top-sticked tutorial several times and do more experiments, then you'll understand.

Enterprise applications are more complex. GRUB is just a carrier. To realize PXE application, you need to know a lot of knowledge, such as being able to make various ISO IMGs, understanding the principle and usage method of PXE, and being familiar with BIOS. Since there isn't a tutorial about how to use GRUB for PXE in this section, you have to learn from other forums.

Maintenance applications: currently, there isn't a universal solution for multi-boot USB flash drives. Just the production capacity alone will make you headache. You also need to be very familiar with applying GRUB to make the USB flash drive use GRUB. Whether the made multi-boot USB flash drive can boot on other computers is another trouble. You have to consider using other boot tools to replace the initial GRUB boot, and then switch to GRUB. At this time, you must learn to use other boot tools (syslinux). Finally, many computers can boot your USB flash drive. When you are just about to enjoy the pleasure of labor, suddenly you find that some tools can't run or have errors inexplicably, and the headache days will start again.

So we have many problems to solve. This is the development direction I think of currently. As for how to compile GRUB, it's left to others to do. I don't understand it at all. Please give some opinions.

In the future, it'll be difficult for me to solve specific problems for everyone. The only thing I can do currently is talk about our development direction, appeal to advanced users to give some suggestions and partial solutions, so as to facilitate integrating links and let more people learn to use GRUB4dos and use it well. Because this is our Chinese software, it's rare that our things are better than foreign ones.
