Hard damage to a floppy disk is impossible to repair; it's either a soft fault or a method of deceiving the operating system.
I have a 1.44M floppy disk. Since it had already been formatted when I bought it, I accidentally used FORMAT under DOS. Suddenly, I remembered that the manufacturer had already formatted it, so I quickly tried to eject it, but it was too late. The floppy drive light was already on, and ejecting it caused damage. When I inserted it again, it wasn't recognized. Using FORMAT prompted that track 0 was damaged. Using PCTOOLS to format didn't work, and formatting it to 720KB single-sided didn't work either. Taking it out and looking at it under a fluorescent lamp, I couldn't see any damage. Maybe it was scratched not obviously, but it was definitely physically damaged. I used NDD to repair it, and it prompted that a low-level format was necessary. Pressing OK prompted to use DISKTOOL, and the repair couldn't be completed. Starting DISKTOOL, I selected the third item to perform track replacement, and the result was successful. It prompted that now NDD could be used to repair. Starting NDD again, I scanned all errors for repair. In the second track, there were 6 consecutive tracks marked as B bad sectors. At this point, this disk was completely working normally and could be formatted under DOS and could be booted as a system disk. This disk could completely be formatted, but be careful not to try to use the /C parameter to re - check the marked bad sectors, otherwise it would destroy the processing information of DISKTOOL, and the track 0 fault would reappear, and you would have to use DISKTOOL again.
