Use WINDRV instead! Go to windrv.net and download WINDRV Free Trial.
Method as follows:
1. Attach your USB IDE hard disk or U Disk to your computer
2. Install the USB drivers so that you can see the USB IDE hard disk
or U Disk under Win98
3. Install and Open WINDRV under Win98
4. Under the Tools Menu, open Partition Editor
5. If you can see your USB IDE hard disk or U Disk, then you can try:
6. Partition the USB IDE hard disk or U Disk into a primary partition
of FAT16 or FAT32
7. Set it Active with the Set Active Button
8. Press Copy MBR Button; you can use our MBR, which is a simpler MBR
or if it does not work you can use M$ or download a FreeBSD MBR
from our site
9. Reboot your machine
10. You can then identify your USB primary partition as a drive
12. Use Windows Explorer to format it and put the system files or
Use DOS Window to issue "format /s; for U Disk, the latter
method seems to be the only method for my Allok U Disk
13. You can now re-boot your USB IDE hard disk or U Disk

Using SYS to transfer system files definitely doesn't work, I've tried it. I've tried several methods and none work, I wonder if any brother can help.
The methods I've tried: When booting with the administrator's MSDOS7.10, it freezes halfway; partitioning under XP and setting it as active, then transferring system files under WIN98, also doesn't work.
Hope the brother can help solve it. Thanks in advance.
