This topic was initiated by me. It's very honored to be so popular among everyone.

The following is the infallible method I'll introduce: (It's quite troublesome and dangerous, it's recommended to back up first)

Tools:
PQ, GDISK.EXE, GDISK32.EXE, a DOS boot disk
Steps:
First, remove the read-only attribute of the BOOT.INI file of WINXP. Then use PQ to divide a part of the main partition space in FAT 16 format in C:, The position of this space is divided from the front end of C:, essentially it is the C drive on the physical partition;
Second, place GDISK.EXE and all DOS files in the just-processed DOS partition;
Third, set the floppy disk to boot, use the DOS boot disk to boot, execute the SYS command to transfer the system files to the DOS partition. Execute GDISK 1 /ACT /P:1 (activate the current DOS partition to make it a bootable disk), restart and check if it can boot;
Finally, after the test passes, add the startup item
GDISK32 /BOOTINI /ADD /D:1 /P:1 /DESC:DOS /TIMEOUT:30
Thus, when you start the computer again, you can see the DOS startup item on the screen.

Second set of safe methods:
Use MS DOS 710
You don't need to divide space from the front end of C:, just divide a FAT 16 main partition anywhere, and the other steps are the same

Actually, whether it is a FAT16 partition or a FAT32 partition doesn't matter because MS-DOS 7.10 supports both FAT16 and FAT32, as long as it's not an NTFS partition or something like that.

It can allow those Windows XP users to quickly boot to pure DOS, and after restarting, they can use Windows XP boot normally.

The downloaded pqvf.exe file is a self-extracting program. The names and functions of the decompressed files are as follows: The main functions of the two files MBR.dat and restrmbr.exe are to restore the master boot record of the hard disk. The function is the same as executing the FDISK/mbr command, which can clear the master boot sector without changing the partition table structure. Vfinst9x.exe is used to start the pure DOS interface under Windows 9x, and VfinstNT.exe is used to start the pure DOS interface under Windows XP. The pqvf.vfd contains the bootable floppy disk image file.

The specific method is: directly run VfinstNT.exe, the vfinstNT.exe file will modify the master boot record of the hard disk, then Windows XP will automatically restart.
