There are really too many software for playing music under DOS. Issues like CD, WAV, MID, MP3, OGG and so on are not problems. You can see quite a few relevant software in the "DOS Media Tools" on the website. The one you mentioned is just a tool for playing CD, and it has been introduced on the website as well.

Programs for playing CDs in DOS, I can make one in C language. Moreover, playing CDs under DOS all uses relevant interrupts of the CD-ROM drive to realize playing analog audio, which is not like playing digital CD audio in Windows, and if there is no audio cable of the CD-ROM drive in DOS, you can't even think about listening to CDs.
